so i thought i'd join in with Jordyn ✬ and do a tutorial! i'll do my best to be clear but i am codswallop at instructions sooo... don't be scared to ask questions/correct me! you can pm or reply here c:
as my example i made cookie monster cupcakes for this year's colour wars [go teal!]; ever wanted to hex food from the cookie/cracker box but been scared? don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds!
the process is largely the same as hexing a toy in general ; the only difference is, it is, essentially, more of a pain.
first start off the same way you would hexing any old toy. but, make sure you change BOTH hex IDs, and BOTH of the sprites. but here is the most important part: when you save your toy, its name has to be the same number of letters [this includes spaces, dashes, etc], as the cookie jar or cracker box, both of which have 10 letters. the part where you check if your toy shows up in the cupboard can be annoying here; for some reason cookie/cracker boxes are fussier! be patient and keep trying.
now replace the sprites in Hex Workshop. Sprite_CookieJar_[whatever-your-letter-is] and Sprite_Cookie_[whatever-your-letter-is] must both be changed! it is also best you replace it without the "Sprite" part in front [just put CookieJar_[letter] and do the same with Cookie_[letter] ].
now here is the important part; towards the bottom of Hex Workshop and somewhere around the middle you will find Resource\Toyz\Cookie Jar.toy. you have to have to change this part to whatever your 10 letter new name is [this is why you had to have a 10 letter name; otherwise it doesn't replace correctly]. it's annoying to find but an important part of the process.
replace all of the filmstrips in Tinker as per usual [there are 3 different ones to change here as you have to change the cookie's too]
aaand you're done! enjoy your yummy snacks! [in this case the cookie monster... COOKIES! NUMNUMNUM]
