Asset Not Found error message

I thought I had seen something about this somewhere but I can't seem to find it now. When I try to retrieve certain babyz from grandmas house this pops up and my game crashes.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have tons of space on my hard drive and plenty of memory. I've checked everything I know to check.

It is only happening when I send a baby to grandmas house wearing certain downloaded clothing and accessories, particularly glasses and hats. The only way to get around the crash (that I know of) is to manually remove the baby file that is wearing the clothes and replace it with a backup. It is a good thing that I keep online backups of all my babyz or this could be a real problem! I love these outfits and they work fine as long as I don't close my game with the babyz still wearing them but it's easy to forget and annoying to have to replace them each time.

This can happen when you have clothes in your closet with colliding ID numbers or if there is another issue with the clothing they were wearing when sent to grandma's house.

For example, say you have a hat and a skirt in your closet that both use the ID number 1234. You put a hat on a baby with the ID number 1234, then you send the baby to grandma's house. When you try and retrieve the baby, the game glitches because it can't figure out which item with the 1234 ID number to put on the babyz (the hat or the skirt).

If you can pinpoint which items are having colliding issues, you can change the ID numbers on the clothing pieces to not have this issue anymore. This is why some clothes hexers like myself, Jen, and Samia purposely have sets of ID numbers that we use in order to not run into each other. That way, we can ensure all our clothing items don't collide. An example of numbers we're using are here:

It looks like the specific clothing item that is causing an issue with your game is called "ms.clo", if I were you, I would look through my clothes file and remove that clothing item and then try bringing the baby back from grandma's house again. That has fixed the issue for people before.

One way to avoid this problem entirely is to remove all clothing items from babyz before sending them to grandma's house. That's what I always do just in case.

I do not, however, have a 'ms.clo' file!

It was resolved when I removed all the clothes, as you said, Rima. :3

I never found that file either Alice. I think I may go through my favorite ones and just check the ID's to see which ones are conflicting. ... when I get time that is.

I'm able to play now though so it's ok. I keep backups of my babyz just in case.

I just now got this message for the very first time. My game has been running fine with no problems. I just tried to start it up for the first time today and got the message when the loading screen is done. My husband is busy getting ready to go fishing with his brothers so I'm not asking him to help me right now.

Has anyone been able to figure this out?!

*EDIT* I figured out it was a babyz file causing it. Took him out of the game and I'm going to download again and hopefully the problem is solved.*

REUPPING this as I've gotten the same/similar error!

I hadn't used my game for over the past month/month and a half as I've been recovering from surgery and haven't been able to sit at the computer for any length of time.   I had opened it a couple weeks ago, knowing my comp's proclivity to 'eat'/'destroy'/'delete' things if they're not used for long periods, and it worked fine at that point.  
Today I went to use it and the message I got was the same as above with the exception of asset = 0 .
Is looking for asset = 0 an option to fixing whatever's preventing the game from working?  If so, where exactly would this be located in the game files?  
I did the regedit to no avail and ended up uninstalling/reinstalling the game from my cd and also reinstalled Nicholas Sherlock's Petza but still come up with the same error.
I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.  
This comp is Win XP with plenty of hard drive space and memory available.
I'll continue trying to fix it on my own but if anyone can assist I'd be most grateful!

You can generally fix this by emptying your clothes folder then relaunching the game ^^

Helen🌸, meaning removing ALL the clothes or just the hexed items? I've a stuffed closet full of mostly hexed things with just a few game originals.
