I'm absolutely amazed at the level of skill hexing has reached since I first started playing in 2003!! When I reinstalled the game and decided to check out this forum, i never in a million years, would have guessed the kind of hairstyles and clothing you guys have invented! I am completely blown away and inspired to make so many new things
So i'll be posting my experiments and forays into hexing here <3
(Advice and constructive criticism are wholeheartedly welcome, as i'm still floundering about figuring out what i'm doing lol).

My first (surprisingly successful!) hexie, is Embry. There's more info about her on my family thread, but for posterity i'm posting her here too. When she started out, I made her hair cyan to ice blue, and decided to change it. I still really liked the ombre though, so i might reuse those bmp's later for an alien baby

I was stalking everyone's family threads and kept seeing these incredibly curly hairstyles on everyone's kids, and thought "holy shit, did they really sit down and make ALL those lines!?? No way omg that's madness I envy their patience!" and then saw in 𝓡iley 's hexing thread that she used hair tattoos to make the curls on transparent bmp's, instead of hand-doing every little curl with linez. I was floored! Holy shit when did you guys figure that out!? Who invented that? Because i need to kiss their face they're geniuses!
Anyway, I asked Riley for permission to use their example image for curly strands (with the promise to not give away the baby, since, y'know, the bmp is still theirs). After quite a bit of frustration, I managed to whip up this lil' girl
I firefly'd her eyes (i think that's the term?) and gave her a lil flower crown with butterflies (to help hide a tiny bald spot that was driving me nuts...). I'm not super happy with her bangs (idk how to make them cover the eyes properly when she tilts her head, if you even can?) but i think overall for my first hair-tattoo'd girly, she turned out rather well!
I haven't decided if i'm going to keep her, or folder her for now, but she is super posy and smiley and aptly loves the yellow butterflies that wander around the back yard, lol. I couldn't have planned that any better tbh.
I think the next time i do bangs like that though, i need to really define the strands. I ended up making a fill pattern on photoshop and just filling in a general shape, so it's not as crisp and wispy as i'd like -- but I got lazy and said "nope, i'm done now. She's cute, she's functional, and my eyes are going cross. We're done now." lol.
