I did several searches for this and couldn't find any posts so my sincere apologies if this is a repeat. I was running Babyz on Windows 8 and it worked fine (was still fighting with ViaVoice to work, but otherwise everything was good). Well, that computer developed the blue screen of death. I'm slowly getting my files off of that computer by booting from disk but haven't reinstalled Windows. My other computer has Linux (Ubuntu 18.04) and I downloaded Babyz from the abandonware site and am running it with Wine and it is working fine, I even have ViaVoice working - but for some reason, the record player doesn't play anything? All other sounds work in the game from what I can tell. When you pick up the record, it lists the song that the record is, when you put it on the record player, it makes that little scratch noise, the record spins with the needle on the record, but no song. The files are all in the Songz folder like they should be so I can't figure out why they wouldn't be playing. I'm guessing the babys can't "hear" the songs either because they don't dance to them like they used to either.
I'm going to be installing Windows on my other computer (hopefully), but if someone can help me figure out how to get the record player working on this, I'd super appreciate it, especially as this is my newer computer and the other one is sort of falling apart.
