Clothes Hexing Best Practices - Repeating Patterns

Hellooo darling Milkers! I have a lil question about making repeating patterns for clothes, pls.

While I (mostly) understand the Photoshop side of creating repeating patterns, what I'm NOT sure of is how to avoid the 'clashing' appearance when you apply a pattern to a clothing item. Like... clothing items are made up of several different parts, so the pattern positions itself differently in each part. It's particularly obvious when you apply it to something like a t-shirt - the shoulder/arm parts don't blend seamlessly with the belly part, and seem to clash with it. I hope this makes at least some sense (and I realise that people don't usually make patterned t-shirts, possibly because of this).

SO I wonder if I'm missing something? Is there a particular size (in px) that you tend to use for small-scale repeating patterns, or do you approach it some other way? Is the problem with the pattern itself, or is it just how the game works? Am I just finicky and daft...?

Not 100% sure I know what you mean?

If you don't want the pattern repeating - so it stays still like on the tummy - you will need to set the other ball parts on your baby to non-rotating; but this might be a faff as the arm has like 3 or 4 balls plus the chest has 2.

If you wanted the pattern to "flow" - so say you have flower where you want the petals lined up with the centre all the way down; you would have to make seperate patterns for each ball part and then realign the placement of the flowers on your bmp until they lined up (after your baby is non-rotate all down the arms).

Am I thinking along the right lines of what you meant?

If so, it probably could be done but it would take a veeeeeeeeeeeery long time to get it right!

Of course requiring non-rotate on each ball part DEFINITELY wouldn't be it, especially if you're looking towards making clothes for sale in a mootique. hmm. So clothes-hexers just don't ever worry about this, or only use the pattern in places where it's not particularly noticeable? I wasn't sure if I was missing some magic trick, but babyz be like that I guess...

Yep, that's why small patterns or plain colour are popular as it's not as noticable
