so i was undecided about posting on milk cause i don't wanna be a downer, but i might semi-disappear for a bit so i decided i should post.
between christmas and new year i ended up in a&e with horrific abdominal pain. i was in hospital for 3 days during which time it was discovered that one of my ovaries is 16cm big and is a complex cyst or tumor. now, it could be overgrown cysts from my pcos, a benign tumor, a pre-cancerous tumor or cancer. the consultant is fairly confident it isn't cancer, but we won't know for sure until they can look at it in a lab.
whatever it is, it does not belong inside me so i am having a big operation on wednesday. they have to make a huge incision with pain equal to three c sections (thanks for that info, consultant) to get it out without rupturing it. i am likely to be in hospital for about a week after but hopefully less, then i can't drive for a month and can't lift things for 6 weeks.
i'm not super worried about it to be honest, i like and trust the consultant and although there are surgical risks i just feel like it will be ok. my spidey senses say it will be. mostly i am worried about recovery time and how this will affect uni. i expect i will have to defer for a year if the pain is too bad for concentration which is just super frustrating.
so anyway. if i disappear or am only semi-active for a bit, this is what's going on.
oh Ꮭilibet 🔮 that is truly pants. insert all the usual placating stuff about at least it was found, surgery risks are minimal, i'm sure you'll be fine etc etc but in the meantime i'm sure it's all a scary bother & i hope it all flies through with no complications & with only TWO c-sections' worth of pain :D #motivationalspeakeroftheyear
i'll be thinking of you xoxoxoxoxo
(but hey it works out good for me - with you mia i'll get a few weeks of being able to post without ridicule! oh wait no Helen 🌸 will still be here, fuck)
Oh god chicken! Im sure everything will be fine BUT when youre in recovery youl be on some GREAT loopy meds and honestly 3 c Sects isnt tooo bad, iv had one and its all over so quick babe <3 Sending good vibes <3 xx
I'm sorry you're having to go through all this. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly during the surgery and you have minimum pain and a quick recovery. You should have a good story to tell, so remember everything. My hugs go with you.
thank you so much everyone for your good vibes! the op went well yesterday. turns out the tumor was even bigger than they thought at 22cm... ridiculous. they took my appendix as well because it was possible that some of the cells came from it. i am in a decent amount of pain but i've already come off morphine. the whole area is still under local anaesthetic tho and i am taking paracetemol/tramadol.
i have brushed my hair, had breakfast and got out of bed which all the doctors were surprised by! i am now transferring my babyz backup from my usb stick to my laptop so i can play today <333
oh and the best part is i am on the ladies' ward which has individual ensuite rooms. silver linings!
