I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions – I'm just discovering hexing and often end up blocked
To anyone who is kind enough to provide some help: I'd love to give back! Maybe I can send what I'm hexing when I'm finished if you're interested, or any other service you can think of
So, I'm hexing a workbench based on the high chair (work in progress, nowhere near finished!).
Tbh I'm hexing off a high chair that can be put away from Carolyn. The thing is, since in the game it wasn't meant to be put away in the cabinet, I can't edit the HIGHCHAIR_X2 AWAY section on Tinker. Tinker reads it as corrupt.
I have no idea how to help you, but don't worry about asking questions!! We love to help other hexers out! <3 Hopefully someone can provide some insight soon! I'm not very experienced in hexing toys & just know the basics! You seem to have a better grasp than me & that's awesome!! Keep it up!
Thanks so much Thunderstormie, that's encouraging I did something weird and it actually worked. Here are the instructions for future hexers:
My problem was: The highchair doesn't have an "away" animation, so Tinker wouldn't let me replace the image that appears in the closet.
I already had a Workbench.toy file ready, with its own ID, changed sprite names etc.
I made a copy of another toy in the Toyz file, like the blue Pillow, for example. I renamed the new toy Test.toy
Then I went through the normal process of creating a new toy in LNZ, following these instructions : new ID, change sprite names, and finally replace the old sprite names with the new ones in Hex Workshop.
I opened my Test.toy in Tinker, and selected the "AWAY" section. There I changed the icon to the one I wanted for my workbench, following the same instructions mentioned above.
Back to LNZ. I opened my Test.toy again, and under the FLM and FLH sections, I exported the "AWAY" lines of my Test toy. To do this, you right click on the on the PILL_B1_AWAY under the FLM and FLH sections, and click "Save To File". I named them PILL_B1_AWAY.flm and PILL_B1_AWAY.flh.
Still in LNZ, I opened my Workbench.toy. I clicked the FLH section there and on the "AWAY" line, I right-clicked and selected "Replace from File." I added my PILL_B1_AWAY.flh, and then did the same for the FLM section.
Save and... Voila! The Workbench had its own "away" image in the closet
