as our community grows and changes, we on the milk staff must adjust things to accommodate the state of the forum and ensure that milk always continues to thrive! in this interest, we have decided to make some changes to our monetary and banking systems.
beginning at the end of this quarter (march 31st), unbanked bottlecaps will now expire on the last day of each month. there will be a notification to remind you before this happens (during the first few months there will be SEVERAL reminders so nobody is caught off-guard) and then on the last day of the month all the caps in your “wallet” (aka the caps displayed on your profile/under your avatar) will disappear.
but do not fear! you are now able to open a bank account at the bottlecap bank to keep them tucked away nice and safe so you don’t have to worry about them expiring. there are several account tiers available depending on how many caps you wish to keep. some accounts do have monthly fees, but there will be special discounts for members who are active in different ways throughout the forum!
this is very smart! I think it will help encourage spending caps vs just letting them sit and accumulate, and also the discounts are a brilliant way to encourage maintaining or increasing activity! thanks for all the thought that went in to this change!
rofl yes that's kind of the idea! i really want to narrow the gap a bit between our longtime members who have tons of caps and nothing to buy, and our newer members who have the exact opposite problem! hoping our mootique owner discount will encourage people to put out more things to buy as well!
this is sort of our "step one" in making our currency really functional and good again. i'd also really like to reintroduce something along the lines of sunny pastures again but i need to restructure it so it isn't so much work on staff/teachers.
ohhh ok, I get it now! I'm always very slow when it comes to understanding technical things, but I'm beginning to understand... You're trying to make the economy at Milk more dynamic Phew, thanks for thinking all this through!
