the dreaded ~unhandled exception~ error [SOLVED?????]

hello milky friendly friends!! i was very excited to return to the game and the community today, but my games is giving me the unhandled exception error ? i've done everything in the list of debug fixes in the common errors thread but none of them worked, so i tried running a completely fresh install of the game from a different place on my computer, but that didn't work either?? i've tried different compatibility modes as well

i'm getting the error for the clothes closet when i run the game normally, and the kitchen when i run it as administrator, which seems odd to me. in the past i usually got this error when i left something out while hexing or forgot to put something away before removing it from the game, but it's been so long that i can't remember which it could've been, and since the error is mentioning two different places PLUS a clean install of the game is throwing the exact same error(s) i'm just completely stumped!! can anyone offer some assistance to someone who's forgotten almost all her babyz knowledge? ?

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Must have been hexing something the last time I had played babyz on my laptop, but it had been so long that I couldn't remember what it was. Tried everything you mentioned too, and couldnt figure it out. It sucks that we dont actually install the game with an installer so like uninstalling it doesnt work. I didnt know what else to try, so I ended up just giving up on my laptop and installed it on our family PC instead. :/ I know that is like zero help ha but just letting you know I was in the same boat, it's frustrating!

same position here! I couldn't fix it so had to switch to a different computer. That error is the pits.

Where about a have you tried having a clean install of the game?

The only place I could get mines to work was to have it in documents, I downloaded the files from someone’s post on Milk, and then it worked fine.

did you try having a different baby out? or no baby? or overwriting versions of playscenes? that kinda thing?

i've tried it in documents and my desktop as those are usually thr ~safest~ places! i just tried it in program files too with no luck. i did different babyz, no baby, and i just tried some overwriting playscenes from drn. no change :(

has anyone had luck running the game from a usb or external hard drive??

that's so weirddddd why is it doing this to you >:( anytime i've had this error i think i've fixed it by running it in admin so it's weird that didn't work either.

in that case i'll pick up a usb soon and see if running it from not-technically-my-computer helps!! lmao this is such a hassle, i really hope i can fix it

That is so weird!! I wish I could offer more help. But I definitely played before with a USB, I used to do it so I could take the game to my grandma's house as a kid lmao.

i did also use to run my game off an external harddrive i believe, so i could still play on  my work computer ? lol
