update to rehexing/rehoming rules regarding inactive hexers

jen and i were speaking recently about what to do if a hexer has been inactive for quite some time and someone wants to rehome their hexies or update them a little to fit today's hexing standards.

we both agreed that we definitely do not want to disregard any hexer's wishes regardless of how long they've been inactive. i would absolutely hate it if an old member came back to find all of their hexies completely unrecognizable. however, we also definitely understand the desire to want older babyz to fit in with today's standards or have themes so they are not so plain. so we have agreed on a forumwide rule to address this!

if a hexer has been inactive for 4 years or longer:

1. all of their hexies may be rehomed on milk only, even if the hexer's rules require them be sent back to the hexer.
   
   
2. you may rehex them with the following:
   
   
   • changing eye color or giving firefly eyes
   • changing eyelash color or length
   • changing eyebrow color
   • adding, removing, or changing hair bobbles
   • improving hair color to add an ombre or smooth the transition between hair colors (see #4)
   • adding, removing, or changing tattoos on any body part (including hair)
   • adding, removing, or changing freckles on any body part
   • adding, removing, or changing rosie cheeks/nose
     
     
3. you may not rehex any part of the baby other than what is listed above unless they allow it in their original rehexing rules. that includes skin color and hairstyle.
   
   
4. i did mention above that you can add an ombre or fix the hair color transition (in the case of like a stark line or a colored tip or something). however please do not change their base hair color from the general tone/shade of what it originally was! for example if the baby's hair was originally brown you can change it to a different shade of brown or add a brown to blonde ombre but you can't change them to have an entirely new hair color.
   
   
5. you may not alter or re-use any haircodes.

This is so so exciting! I have a couple oldies that I loved so much but downsized because I wanted them to *match* my babyz with current trends like firefly eyes.

And I love how much consideration you & Jen gave it, it feels very respectful of the original hexer while allowing us to keep beloved babyz in our families with small updates to bring them up to current trends.

These updates are great and should help anyone hoping to update some older family memberz without problems! I appreciate the thought put into this announcement.

Most of my kidz are pretty plain/old school and could use tweaking to bring them to current standards. I wouldn't hesitate to update some if I could.

Sorry to dig this up again but ... I have several kidz whose hexers don't appear on our member list thus have no rules for updating/rehexing/rehoming etc. Also I've noticed some former members without established rules.

What are chances of these babyz being allowed updates/rehexing/rehoming? Should there be a standard established or should it be left to the discretion of the hexer/s responding to such a request (from a non-hexing member)? Hope this makes sense ...

cheryl ツ if someone does not have a rules thread up i think it's fair to say you can rehex/rehome as you like! of course it's always nice to reach out and ask, but if they don't answer or you know they're completely inactive and have no rules thread then it's safe to assume there are no rules about the baby.
