windows 8 issue

I've been trying to figure this out myself for days but nothings working so maybe some of you have a different idea lol. 
I tried transferring Babyz to my Windows 8 laptop because playing on my small laptop is kind of driving me nuts.
So... I put the whole game on a drive, plugged it into the windows 8 laptop and transferred it all over.

Loaded up fine except it asked me for a code while I already had babyz in the adopted babyz folder
Put a code in, that baby showed up just fine but not the babyz that I had in there already.
I can pull I think 4 of my babyz from grandmas house and they show up just fine, but the others never show up and when I close the game out and look in adopted babyz it shows them all there but multiple copies of them...

I've tried putting the babyz folder in C, Documents, and Desktop and it does the same thing. Running under compatibility mode and as an administrator.. 
I have no other ideas lol
I even tried running the game from the drive itself and same issue.

whaaat the heck?! I know I've successfully played babyz on this laptop before so I'm super confused lol. Anyone have other ideas I could try?

yes I do! forgot to mention that one lol.

that's so weird! do you maybe have babyz installed in multiple places and it's getting confused between the folders? it could maybe have to do with your security settings too hmmm.
