Huge Startup Lag

I recently had to reinstall Babyz (and everything else) when my computer randomly locked up and needed to be wiped by manufacturer. Since then, I have run a brand new Windows OS, Windows 10, that I upgraded to Windows 11. Now, when I try to load Babyz -- and ONLY Babyz -- I have a massive lag. It takes about twenty minutes for the game to open. It will show in my task manager as Not Responding. So, I close it and it will be loaded up a few notches more each time.

Has anyone encountered this? What on earth could possibly be causing this? Where do I even start to investigate?

It feels so random. I hope it's something I can fix because it's getting real annoying. =9

Have you tried holding ctrl + shift when loading?

That was my first though, but it didn't help any. I'm wondering if I need to change the compatibility...

Yeah I always have to run my game in admin mode for it to work fully. That with Petza and I don't have any issues.

I had this problem as well until I downloaded Petza. It used to drive me crazy. I hope you can get it sorted.

I got it to stop lagging as much by putting it into compatability with windows 95. It still lags, but at least it's not freezing! ?

The problem is back xD

It seems the more often I play Babyz, the less it lags. But, even not playing overnight makes it lag so much. I guess at least it's not crashing!!! =9

I have this issue, but if I just open the game then ignore it for a thousand years it loads eventually, and then it loads pretty quick if I need to close and reopen it. I just figure it's a quirk of running a game from 1999 on a computer from not 1999 xD

I've never found that anything helps, but it does load eventually so I just live with it.

for me its the first time i start it everyday, then its normal and opens quick the rest of the day LOL
