A couple of clothing-related hexing questions

Hi everyone!

I'm just dipping my toes into clothing hexing and I had a couple of questions:

1) I remember from downloading clothes years ago that a lot of hexers only hexed the 'away' clothing in the closet, and didn't deal with the other animations/left them looking like the item of clothing it had been hexed from. Is this still the case or should I learn how to edit/color all the frames of an animation before I contemplate opening a Mootique? If so, are there any good tips/shortcuts?

2) This is more of a curiosity because I can get around it by using other base clothing, but when trying to change textures I realized that some clothes -- like the white diaper and white t-shirt, and the pink diaper and pink bow -- didn't seem to respond to the texture change/keep showing up as what they were originally. I'm assuming it has something to do with their base texture (like the terrypink.bmp and longjohn.bmp?), since I could hex a different diaper and bow color just fine, but... I was wondering if anyone knows why that is?

3) Sort of related to question one, with my re-textured diaper, it reverts to a purple diaper if I put say, a onesie on the baby and then remove the onesie. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Just going to label my answers so they correspond with your questions...

1) People still just edit the away image. No one really messes with the image of the clothing when it's on the ground/the other animations. Thankfully this makes everything easier!

2) For the white diaper (and I assume the other clothing items), in the addball section, is the texture listed as -1? If so just change it to 0 and then it'll use the long john texture which you can switch out

3) Hm not sure how to answer this! I might know what you mean though. Is it maybe the babyz butt addball turning purple? Instead of the diaper? Sometimes when I remove clothes, the actual addballs on the baby change color for some reason. If you put the baby in the bath does a diaper fall off? I guess that way you could test to see if it's the babyz butt changing color lol.

Rebecca got 1 and 2, but I just wanted to say that the babyz often change color for me when clothes are layered - usually little purple tummies and white thighs in my experience! I don't think there's any way to stop it, but they revert to normal when the game's restarted so it's only a minor annoyance.

Thank you both so much for the replies!! Going to get started on creating a Mootique now that I know editing just the away clothes is okay!

The texture change from -1 to 0 worked perfectly on the white diaper for me, I didn't even notice that! However the white t-shirt is already set to 0, but I think it must have been operator error on my end because I was able to get the custom texture to show up just fine when I re-tried now -- I had deleted my previous attempt but I'm guessing I miswrote 'clothes/resource' instead of 'resource/clothes' because I've caught myself doing that a few times 

As for the diaper, it's definitely actually changing back to the default/original diaper after I remove clothes -- this diaper was originally the purple diaper, and right now I have the purple diaper file changed to a custom texture, and when I remove the onesie the diaper changes from the texture it should be to the custom texture I have set as the 'purple diaper' right now. Maybe it has something to do with the original Breed ID?
