october is a very exciting month for us on milk as it brings the return of our annual fall festival! this is a super fun fall-themed carnival with tons of games of chance, rides, vendors, food, and spooky fun! fall festival will run right into our milk trick-or-treating event where you will get to decorate a front door and give out treats to all the costumed babyz who come knocking!

don't forget, we are still accepting donations for fall and halloween hexed items for the upcoming fall festival market!

This post marks the start of Pageant Weekend, a full weekend dedicated to hosting and entering pageants!

Everyone who enters three or more pageants this weekend will earn a bonus 3pp.
Everyone who hosts two or more pageants this weekend will earn a bonus 3pp.
Everyone who judges a previous pageant of theirs with awards this weekend will earn a bonus 3pp.
The Milker who hosts or enters the most pageants wins 5pp on top of those!

following our big summer event, september is going to be a nice lowkey catch-up month! catch-up months are a great time to, well, catch up on everything that fell by the wayside while you were doing event things. work on your house board, host and enter some pageants, hex something new, post some baby updates. the month is yours!

in september we will resume our theme weekends as well, starting with hexing weekend on friday the 8th. our next event will take place mid-october when the annual fall festival pulls into town! don't forget, we are still accepting donations for fall and halloween hexed items for the upcoming fall festivities!

spoopy season is nearly upon us and as such we would love to have some new seasonal offerings for the upcoming shops & events! since we have so many amazing hexers here i thought it would be fun to open up for donations from the full member base rather than just staff.

here is what we are looking for:

- halloween-themed clothing sets, playscenes, or toys by september 22
- halloween costumes by october 13
- fall-themed clothing sets, playscenes, or toys by october 13
- carnival/fair themed clothing sets, playscenes or toys by october 13

if you choose to submit a donation please message lacey via PM or discord to drop it off!
it is preferred that you don't post them here so there aren't any spoilers ;) however you are welcome to post here and let us know you are working on something!

anyone who chooses to donate something will earn their choice of 10pp per set OR a nice handful of fall festival tickets to start the event with.

i have a very exciting announcement to make today!!

new babyz.org launches SUNDAY, AUGUST 20!

the current iteration of babyz.org served us very well throughout the years, but has been in desperate need of updating and TLC for a while now. our lovely and endlessly talented Angelica? has been hard at work for the last several months redesigning and updating our homepage at babyz.org to make it a fitting place for our community members both new and old to find resources and downloads in 2023 and beyond.

one of the big features of the new site will be a one-stop place for all "shopping" needs. if you have downloads on your site or in the milky mall board here on the forum, we would love for you to submit that link! you can submit it at any time, but the sooner the better so that we can have a bunch of links up when we launch in 5 days!

July 31, 2023 - BATTLE OF THE BANDS UPDATE!

i wanted to do a little update since we are entering the final leg of the battle of the bands event!

the last tour bus task is underway as we head to our third and final venue, cowchella music festival, where our bands will perform one last time and the winning band of battle of the bands will be crowned!

i also wanted to mention that i have moved all the past venue boards here, and you're welcome to still do any of the activities or buy from any of the shops in the past venues as well, everything is still ongoing until the end of the whole event.

as a reminder, it's just the performance tasks that are band-only, the rest of the activities in all venues are open to everyone whether you signed up for the event or not. :D

let's close this event out with a bang!

welcome aboard the milky MOOsic tour bus! this tour bus will be your traveling home for the summer as we journey from venue to venue, performing in the battle of the bands! together with your teammates you will create a band of your babyz, write songs, design merch, and perform your heart out as you compete to see who will be the winning band!

each team will have their own band space on the tour bus where they can work on their tasks and just hang out! you should be able to see your band space from the front page of the forum. your band spaces are private and only your team is able to see them, so no one can steal your band's secrets! (if you don't see your band space please let me know as i might have missed you when i was adding everyone into member groups)

i am very excited to announce our large scale summer event this year: battle of the bands!
this event will be a mix of past competition events (such as moolympics) and past travel events (such as the cruise/space tour)!

members will be put into teams where together you will create a band out of your babyz! decide the band name and genre, create an album cover, write a first single, and design merch!

meanwhile, we will be boarding the milky moo-sic tour bus and taking our bands to perform at three special destination venues, competing for fame, glory, and the chance to perform with our resident boy band, NBOTB!

if you would like to sign up to join a team and participate in battle of the bands, please reply in the signup thread!

spring is approaching, and with it, the season of flowers, bunnies, chicks, and... you guessed it, EGGS! we have our very EGGciting egg hunt coming up in a few weeks and we're looking for some EGGcellent members to contribute in an EGGstremely helpful way!

please design us an egg! you can design it using pixel art, digital art, or however you'd like! the only rules are as follows:

egg design rules

♥ eggs can be of varying sizes but should be no larger than 50x50 px or else they'll be difficult to hide!

♥ eggs must have a transparent background

♥ eggs must have some sort of design on them (IE they can't be just a plain solid colored egg-- these are easter eggs!)

♥ you must be okay with us using your egg in varying ways across the forum including but not limited to being edited into random graphics and posts.

you can use one of the below templates to make your egg or you can just freestyle your own! (ty angi for the first 4 templates)

once you have finished your egg please post it in this thread! you are allowed to make as many eggs as you like.

you have until march 26 to get your eggs in!

our back to basics event has now begun!!

back to basics is a celebration of our beloved babyz game that brought the community together! some of us have been in this community for a looooong time, and it can be so easy to just go into the game, snap a few photos, and then close it again and call it a day. but babyz is a game ahead of its time. it is funny and clever, and it is the reason we are all here in the first place! so, this week is all about really playing the game, and rediscovering all the weird little features and parts of the game that we might have forgotten about.

this year's back to basics event doubles as a grower event as well, because what better way to motivate us to play the game is there than getting to watch our itty bitty little squishy babyz grow up??

so what are you waiting for? go see which grower you got (or snag a leftover if you didn't), pop them into the game, do a few gameplay challenges, start a playtime journal, and keep track of how your grower grows!! you can also hang out and do some activities in the back to basics event board.

and most importantly: have fun!!!

the cow club rewards shop has also restocked today with not one, but TWO brand new themes: fantasy and valentine's!!

there are so many absolutely beautiful new items in stock so make sure to stop by and reward yourself by spending your hard-earned participation points on some new goodies!!

surprise!! the event is still going up on february 3rd, but i am posting the borrowdoption thread early to give everyone plenty of time to pick out which growers they want to be in for!

back to basics is all about getting back into playing the babyz game, so we thought: what better motivation to play is there than a grower?? growing babyz grow up a little bit each time you play with them, so there's always a reason to open the game and see what they look like that day!

the most exciting part of growing babyz is that they're pretty much a complete surprise, but that also makes it hard to commit to adopting one into your family permanently before you know if their grown-up self is really your style. this thread is here to solve that problem; the growers below are up for borrowdoption!

wtf is borrowdoption??
borrowdoption means that you can apply to borrow one of the below growers for the duration of our event and use them to take part in the festivities. then, at the end of the week, you'll have the opportunity to adopt them if you've really fallen for their teenyweeny charm, or if not, you can drop them back off here to be adopted out to someone else - no hard feelings!

rules
♥ these will be hattie adoptions! we will draw for them on the day the event goes up (friday, feb. 3rd) so you can jump in right away!

♥ since the hats will be randomized, staff are allowed to borrow as well :-*

♥ each hexer's usual rules apply

♥ you may put your name in a minimum of three hats, with a maximum of five hats. please note that you can only win one baby, so if your name gets drawn twice you will need to pick which one you want most.

♥ if, after the event, you decide you no longer want to keep your grower, drop it back off here & we can rehome them along with any who don't get borrowed!

♥ if you miss the chance to get a grower (or just don't want one), you can still play - you can just keep your playtime journal with one of your own babyz!

this month we are doing a winter refresh: a way to sweep out the dust of 2022 and let in the clean fresh vibes of the new year!

to give everyone a lil post-holiday motivation, each week of this month we will be giving participation point bonuses for doing various refresh/catch-up activities on the forum.

this week's refresh theme is:

this week you will get bonus participation points for doing the following activities:

❄ hexing a simple baby: 2pp
❄ hexing a complex baby: 3pp
❄ hexing a toy: 1pp
❄ hexing a clothing set with 5+ pieces: 3pp
❄ hexing something you've never hexed before: 10pp

bonus bonus points!
❄ hexing something for the upcoming event: 10pp
any clothing set/toy set/playscene that is fantasy-themed or a growing baby (grower)
NOTE if you do this please do not post it publicly - PM to lacey instead!

the pp for the family comments will be set to award automatically but for the other activities please reply to the thread to keep track of what you've done.

🎵 it's beginning to look a lot like MILKMAS! 🎵

our merry month of milkmas begins december 1st! normally this would mean that it's time for me to get the secret santa signup going, but this year we are doing something a liiiittle bit different!

this year, everyone gets to decorate their own special milkmas tree for their milky friends to leave gifts beneath! the gifts will be completely secret until december 25th, so you'll be able to pile all the secret presents you want under your friends' trees. then, on december 25th, everyone will be able to open their gifts and see what surprises lay waiting for them!

trick-or-treating is now open!

this year's trick-or-treating will take place
friday, october 28 - sunday, november 6

how does it work?

everyone who wants to give out treats will decorate a front door for trick-or-treaters to knock at. you can start getting your door threads up in this board now! then, when the event begins, milkers will go around and trick-or-treat at each other's doors by posting their babyz in costume in the thread!

what kind of treats should i give out?

your treat can be as basic or complex as you want! some examples of treats to send out can be hexed goodies such as toys or clothes, coupons for photoshoots, hexies, clothes, or graphics! the creativity is yours!

can i give everyone the same treat?

you are allowed to send the same thing to every milker, or you can alternate or randomize who gets what. however everyone who knocks does need to receive something!

can i still trick-or-treat even if i don't give anything out?

you may only trick-or-treat if you yourself have a door thread up, unless you are a new or returning member who has joined/returned within the past six months. then you may trick-or-treat without having your own door.

what if i get too busy to give out my treats?

by putting up a door thread you are committing to sending out goodies via PM or email for everyone who replies. if you don't get a chance to send out your goodies during the 10 days of trick-or-treating, you are free to send them afterwards! it's just the trick-or-treating itself that will close.

how do i play?

if you'd like to participate in this year's milk trick-or-treating, simply start your own thread in the trick-or-treating board, decorate your doorstep, and then be prepared for all the adorable trick-or-treaters headed your way!

you can find a blank door template in this thread, but you are also free to find/make your own if you'd rather!

the annual fall festival has rolled into town! this exciting carnival is held once a year to celebrate the season of autumn and spooky october days!

inside the fairgrounds, there are TONS of things to do and see. you can try your luck at a game of chance, get a thrill on one of our carnival rides, win a blue ribbon in our contest hall, and exchange all the tickets you win for exclusive prizes! if you get hungry along the way, you can stop by one of our food stands for some authentic deep fried fair food!

step right up to the fall festival and have some fun!

OCTOBER 10, 2022 - PIXEL QUILT CLUB IS ALIVE!

Hello, everyone! I wanted to share with you all that I have finally created the pixel quilt club!

The idea behind this is that you can create your own patch and share it with each other (or just share your patch with the club ~ no extra steps necessary!) In addition to our "official" patches, you can also collect fun patches in areas that interest you or that are related to special events within the forum!

The club is currently located in The Museum, but you can access it here. You can check out the rules, see what templates/patches we have so far, and check out the current members!

I even created a form where you can easily submit your patch without having to go through uploading and sending links to your image to all of your tradesies!

I really hope you join us! I think it's going to be LOTS of fun 🥳
