Omg I love makeup so much. I literally have a giant makeup desk, and I'll totally post pictures when I get around to it.
Sometimes I find myself drooling over brushes more than the actual makeup! My dad got me this huge set of like, 50 brushes for Christmas. Unfortunately, the brand isn't written anywhere on the brushes. I know he got them on eBay and eBay sells big brush sets for 3 to 10 bucks! Very high quality and extremely cheap, if anyone's looking for cheap professional brushes.
Ugh I loooove makeup. So much. I have like, 4 makeup bags and they're all full... oops
Brushes, Eyeshadow & Lipstick seem to be my favourites I've found from sorting through my makeup and binning a bag full!
Fake eyelashes: I love 'Girls with attitude' I currently have the 'double take - english rose collection' lashes which were like, less than 2 pounds (They're usually about £5 but I go to a cheap shop called savers) and they're absolutely gorgeous. They're really soft and look amazing on, some of the lashes are brown while most are black so it gives it this really subtle look. They just look to be as good a quality as the ones that cost £10
Mascara: Rimmel London Lash Accelerator endless & W7 flirty eyes I use both of the mascaras together (and a clean mascara brush) to do my eyelashes, it makes them really long in my experience and I use the clean mascara brush to make sure it's not clumpy The Rimmel London one has fibres in it which adds to the length, you just have to brush through it or the fibre's will look like a clump rather than a longer lash!
Eyeshadow: MUA & BHCosmetics MUA is super cheap which is great. There's a palette I want with 12 shadows in it which is only £4 but I use the trio eyeshadow 'emotions' because it's gorgeous, it includes 1 white, 1 gold & 1 brown. It's £3 and I just love it, it's really good for blue eyes too and makes them pop because of the gold & brown I got a BHCosmetics palette at this thing I go to called the clothes show, I got the '3rd edition' and it's quite big and only cost me £23 at the time. It has some bright colours but mainly dark and neutral colours which I love, some are more pigmented than others, you'd probably need eye primer to make them show up better.
Foundation: Maybelline Dream Pure BB I'm not much of a foundation person so I use BB cream because my skin is quite dry and it doesn't make it look gross, I like the thin coverage from it
Concealer: Rimmel London wake me up & MUA hide & conceal The wake me up concealer's really good for under eyes, and I use the hide and conceal from MUA as if you blend it lightly it can cover red spots, I then use finishing powder to keep it from sliding off
Moisturiser: Clean & Clear dual action moisturiser I really like it because it moisturises and prevents spots at the same time, so, win win!
Lipstick: MUA, Makeup Revolution & Sleek Makeup Sleek Makeup is the priciest one I buy, it does matte lipsticks for £5 and they go on quite smoothly MUA does matte & velvet lipsticks for £1, my current favourite is the matte lipstick 'fawn fancy', it's gorgeous! Ooh they also do a lip lacquer in reckless which is gorgeous and is only £3! Sleek makeup also do lipstick for £1, I have two, one in blue and one in purple which I love. They also do a lipstick called 'Ken will want me' & 'I sold out' so they're amazing really
Brushes: Nanshy & W7 I found them at the clothes show and they do some gorgeous & amazing brushes! They're cruelty free too which is amazing. They're quite pricey, I got them discounted because I was at the clothes show. I got 'the eye brush set' which is about £30 online I normally get my separate brushes from W7 though
Think that's about it! I go to MUA for lip liner & eyeliner. I'm currently using W7 instant eyeliner but it's not that great because you can't squeeze the eyeliner into it, you have to just leave it upside down for ages. Currently looking for a new eyeliner brand because of that!
I may look into those brushes you are talking about, aleisha 🥛 . I have two brushes that I use right now. Recently, I was added to a secret Facebook group called "I'm Addicted to Makeup" and omfg, I've learned so much just by watching what they post. I don't know how I've been living with only 2 brushes. I basically want to buy new everything now after seeing the pictures some of those girls post.
I really want to purchase a beautyblender. And oh how I wish I could afford Urban Decay! I mean...I probably could afford it, but I just don't know if I could bring myself to spend $50 on an eye shadow palette.
I totally plan on going to either Ulta or Sephora today.
Also, did I mention I totally want this makeup mirror? I just LOVE it.
My friends all asked for mirrors like that for Christmas, I so want one as the lighting is just perfect for doing makeup. So many times I've done it in dark light and ended up looking like a clown! I feel like I'd be a bit blinded though haha
Oh God I could never see myself spending a lot of money on makeup! My sisters and mum go to MAC and spend like £200 for 6 things or something daft. I don't see a point when I could just buy some cheap eye primer and cheap eyeshadow, especially as I'm trying to go for products not tested on animals. It's weird how I can get an amazing lipstick for £1 with no animal testing (sometimes vegan too) and MAC lipsticks cost like £15 with animal testing!
Also I get my beauty blenders from primark for like £2 haha, I prefer them because brush strokes are annoying, but it's always good to start with a brush as it doesn't absorb the makeup and then use a beauty blender to smooth out any brush marks.
You should definitely look into the brushes! They do cost a lot but I find that most brushes do, I just feel these are slightly cheaper than most but still really good quality. I have an obsession with soft fluffy things so brushes are my favourite thing to buy haha.
That reminds me, makeup revolution have started selling a pallette shaped like a chocolate bar and it reminds me of one of the higher end makeup, so want to get it but I have so many browns already I just don't see a point!
This is making me want to do my makeup for no apparent reason... damn it
I have a mirror with bright lights on it, and it's SO helpful! It helps so much more with seeing how harshly you're putting something on and it helps your makeup look a lot nicer, because you can just see everything you're doing really well. I actually couldn't wing my eyeliner until I started using a mirror like that!
I bought some brushes yesterday at Ulta. They were a bit on the expensive side. I'm not sure if I like them or not, though, because they are so soft to the point where I feel like they're not picking up any makeup that I put on it.
I believe you're meant to wash them with baby shampoo and then hang them upside down so the water doesn't leak down into the glue and dislodge it, and if you hang them upside down they keep their shape too
