so i know this is a known issue and i could have sworn i'd seen a thread about it at some point but a quick perusal of the archives here and the general chatter thread i couldn't find anything (i might just be dumb idk). so here i am lmao.
gmail is currently not letting me send out .toy files as it flags it as a suspicious file, both attached as itself and inside a zip file. in the past i think i've ended up uploading to my google drive and sharing the link, but i also don't feel like this is sustainable because i've used 9 out of 15 gigs of my drive and if that becomes how i send out everything i'm going to run out of the rest of the room fast i'd imagine.
so, how are people sending out .toy and other files gmail rejects? i'm open to most things so long as i don't have to pay for anything!
thanks in advance, hope you all are staying safe! <3
I agree with Trisha! MediaFire has been the best for me! It's SO easy to upload and you can add things to different folders so I have one for my mootique, one for free clothes, one for photoshoots for people, etc. & it's free! I really like it and the user interface has been really easy!
I'd always shied away from Mediafire, thinking it required super technical skills! Now that I've pretty much figured it out, it's way easier than anything else I've tried! And, believe me, if I can figure it out and work with it successfully, anyone can! We should make it our preferred method of distribution and sharing! <3
hey, just a quick question for something i've noticed downloading sims cc through mediafire! first of all, a lot of places seem pretty anti mediafire - is that because there's a lot of ads even with adblock? i did have a pretty not-so-cool experience a few weeks ago i stupidly clicked "allow" on notifications on something because it was telling me i couldn't proceed until i did, and it ended up spamming me with alerts for days no matter what i did until i swallowed my pride and asked my partner for help lmfao. i just wondered, is this something that happens to other people? is there a known workaround i'm not aware of? i'd just hate to think of someone on milk having that happen to them! but this might be my own stupidity, especially at the hours i'm often downloading cc at 😂
𝒿amie 👽 i have seen that as well and while i'm not 100% sure i think it may have to do with the ads that are displayed on mediafire, i think mediafire doesn't do a great job with filtering out spammy or bad ads, or ones that try to make you download something you don't want. i find that i don't have any trouble with it when i use an adblocker like ublock etc. i've never allowed notifications for it (i hate them so i always click block on every website rofl) so i don't have experience with that happening.
i would like to do some research into an easy & free file host that isn't as frowned upon as mediafire seems to be rofl. i hate to use something that is harmful to people but i'm not sure what other options we have :/ obviously we could put all the milk event stuff on babyz.org but most regular members aren't able to use that and i don't wanna use all our space there either.
