ViaVoice issues

I caved and decided to install ViaVoice and give it a try but I'm having issues with it in-game.

There's no "microphone on" option, just options about enabling and configuring ViaVoice or the microphone. I get this error:

I have no idea what it means.

I decided to try in Petz 4 to see if I also had issues. On there, I can enable/disable it and the testing even recognises some of my words, but it does have some issues (for example, I often can't click on my petz except to pick them up).

I'm at a loss here! I checked the advice listed in the common problems thread but that seems to be for installing ViaVoice

lobb the microphone on button is the little yellow microphone button on the same toolbar where you go to different rooms!

did you use carolyn's viavoice fix at all?

Hi ℓacey ✨! Yeah, I tried Carolyn's ViaVoice fix. It just reinstalls ViaVoice on my system but I still have the same issues, but I can try it again.

When I press the microphone button, I get this message:

When I do what the message says (picking the Setup option from the Voice Rec menu) it gives me the error from my first message. I'm really at a loss.

lobb did you try going into your task manager and making sure that the setup wizard isn't still running in the background? from the error message it sounds like it still thinks that it's open! i have never gotten that error before though, that's strange!

Hmmm I just tried that after having switched my computer off and nope, nothing in the task manager (that I can see) that could cause this. No Setup.exe, at least. Maybe it's another process but I honestly can't figure out which.

if you did not get this working yet, what is your e-mail? i have a copy of ViaVoice that maybe will work for you to install and setup.
