ViaVoice Please Help Before I Tear My Hair Out (Sorted)

Okay so I've been at this for the past couple of hours now and after reading the various ViaVoice help threads in the archives multiple times I've got to the stage where it is installed (hooray!), but every time I try to start up the game I get this pop up:


Then when I click on the yellow microphone button it comes up with "Error -1" and that's it. Not really a lot to go off of there so I have no idea how to fix it. I have restarted the computer and it didn't help. I really don't want to have to uninstall Babyz if I can help it because it took me hours to get it working on this PC in the first place. I have been able to set up my mic in game and it let me do all of that so I have no idea what's wrong now. Any help would be hugely appreciated. <3

Edit: I seem to have somehow made it work just by opening and closing the game 1,000,000 times? This can be deleted now, thanks!

Chloe I am getting the same error messaaaggeeeee. Did you really make it work by opening and closing it 1000 times?

So I later figured out that it was just working anyway regardless of the message. I just did the whole set up thing in-game and then pressed the microphone button and it worked.
