Babyz files from the adoption centre

I've recently got babyz on my windows 11 pc and I tried to adopt some babyz using the ingame adoption centre. I download the file and install it but the baby never shows up in my game. Are the files you get from the adoption centre completely unreadable/uninstallable by newer operating systems or is there a workaround I can use to get the generic babyz to still install and show up?

I believe there's a list of codes on this forum and you can use those to adopt Babyz.

Edit: I found them! More importantly, I found a way you can customize your code to get the exact codie baby you want -

I saw those. My question is how do I get that into my game? The files from the adoption centre don't work. Even if I was to edit the code, the file doesn't install.

you don't have to adopt from the ingame adoption center - you can just run the game without any babyz in it and then paste the code into the serial box that pops up!

I can't get the .exe files to work, either - I assume they're broken in newer versions of Windows. To get the adoption centre babyz into your game, make sure your Adopted Babyz folder is empty (close the game, find where you installed it, and move all the .baby files in Adopted Babyz into the Grandma's House folder). When you next launch the game, it'll ask for a serial number - that's the codes CC linked above! You can find the codes for the babyz from the adoption centre by looking at the file name. Just remove "run_me-" from the file name and paste the rest into the serial code box (for example 1176-qcNa-aaav-mbd for the top left baby). Hope that helps (and welcome to Milk!)

only if you want to adopt a new code baby. if you adopt any downloadable babyz or babyz from milk, you can just put the files into your adopted babyz folder, or move them between adopted babyz and grandma's house.

Have you saved the mindscape file in program files? If so it won’t you have to move the mindscape file to my documents.

I put all of the adoptable babyz into .zip files in my "patched" adoption center:

angelicas.site/files/babyz/adoption/

Just in case someone might find that useful someday
